Smith Family Farm Session Malta Illinois 2021

Did you see my session I just shared with Nora? Well after we took her senior photos around NIU’s campus, we headed back to my brother and Kara’s property and did a full Smith Family session! I do a lot of family sessions with little kids but not so many when the kids are older. And I hope this is a great reminder that no matter your age you should get photos done. And you definitely don’t need a special occasion either :)

Kara mentioned that this might be the first time they have ever done a family session so I was really happy I could be a part of that! I obviously like to get the core immediate family photos but I also want to make sure everyone gets an individual photo, photo with each parent. photo with their partner, etc. You bring all your loved ones to one shoot so we definitely crank through a variety of shots!

Zach and Kara’s property is also the perfect backdrop for a shoot. I have done a few there this year and the lighting is always amazing, no matter what time! And it makes it even more special that they finally got to do a session on their own property for them to look back on.

Kara and I were talking a few weeks ago about how hard it was going to be to narrow down photos to print. I suggested doing an album that they can leave out for company to enjoy so they don’t have to narrow down! I am excited either way to see how these photos get used :)
