Nicole and Ben Oak Park Engagement Session
Lex and I had a BLAST running around Oak Park with Nicole and Ben for their engagement session. Helps when they are literally your favorite people on the planet. We were driving with them one day and I told them we literally could do anything they wanted for their shoot. If they wanted to snuggle up on the couch and watch Netflix the whole time I would take photos of that. If they wanted to eat tacos and go out for drinks I’d be down for that! And also eat all the tacos :) I think they chose activities that perfectly reflect their relationship and what they love to do together in this moment.
Nicole and Ben started off by cooking breakfast sandwiches in their kitchen. Win win for me because they were adorable photos AND I got to eat the sandwich. There is a theme here that I am all about food. After cuddling up on the couch post breakfast we headed to a nearby park to have some fun with smoke bombs. If you have been here awhile you may remember our incredible shoot we did in 2016 with them and smoke bombs. It was a bit of a mess with getting to the shoot spot late and not exactly knowing how they smoke bombs worked (and Lex getting worried someone might drive by and think the field was on fire) but this is still to this day one of my all time favorite shoots ever. So naturally we needed to add that to their shoot. Then we snacked on cookies and coffee before heading to their favorite bar Phil’s in Oak Park. They loved going there and honoring Ben’s late grandma who loved Old Fashions. Each part of their shoot was unique and personal to them.
You may remember seeing some photos around Christmas time from when they got engaged! The day after Ben proposed we ran around Brookfield Zoo Lights to celebrate and take a few photos. I’ve taken a lot of photos of them (they are my go to models) over the years so make sure to click the link and see some of my other favorites of them in the last 6 years!
I am so freaking happy for Nicole and Ben and cannot wait for it to be their wedding already!! They are getting married in September this year just a couple weeks after our 2 year anniversary which seems pretty fitting since I truly believe they are are life partners.
