Gretchen and Dawn DeKalb Illinois Headshots

If you saw my post a few weeks ago, I shared some tips and tricks for headshot and branding photos! I think it is so important to have updated photos of yourself whether that be on your business website, on LinkedIn, or on your email. Helps people connect with you when they can see who you are versus the blank profile photo.

Gretchen reached out to me a few months ago about taking some headshots for her and her colleague Dawn. They both have some have some career changes going on and thought this was a good time to get updated headshots! I couldn’t agree more :)

For this shoot, we just circled the parking lot! You don’t need a huge space to create beautiful photos. It is more so on the lighting. And at this time of day, the parking lot had a bunch of spot with gorgeous lighting to choose from. Shooting in the open shade is best when going for a headshot. Open shade is exactly what it sounds like, it is shade that is in a more open space. It allows for even lighting. Shade in a forest is great but definitely different. Congratulations to Gretchen on her new position! And good luck to Dawn on her new adventure. Both very different but exciting times for them both!
